Whether you're hiking to the summit for panoramic views or traversing the legendary Mile High Swinging Bridge, a visit to Grandfather Mountain promises an unforgettable adventure amidst the splendor of the Southern Appalachians.

Keep in mind that to access Grandfather Mountain, each visitor must pay an entrance fee.

However, there is a trick to save some money! Hike the trail from the parkway and just have one person set to meet you at the top! Hikers from the Blue Ridge Parkway are not required to pay the entrance fee.

Watch for Wildlife Along the Blue Ridge Parkway
